Welcome to Hillcrest Apartments
Perched atop a hill at the southwest corner in the city of Edgemont, the Hillcrest Apartment complex is a cozy campus of four single-story buildings. There are six one-bedroom apartments in each of the buildings and landscaped grounds surround our peaceful community.
Hillcrest Amenities:
Enjoy the quitness of Edgemont approximately 40 minutes west of Hot Springs SD. The Hillcrest is cozy and convenient, with access to the local transit service. The Edgemont Senior Center is the place where noon meals are served five days each week for those who need a balanced supplement to their nutrition needs. Banking and a grocery store is also available, summer theather, county fair in the summer with rodeo, local churches, auto repair, designated smoking area, well as community-wide programs through the local Edgemont Schools, a public library and a local branch of the YMCA.
Each unfurnished unit has it’s own outside entrance into the living room, where a large window overlooks the central courtyard. The kitchen is equipped with a full-sized electric range and full size refrigerator, adjoining dining space. The bedroom is large enough for a queen-sized bed with plenty of room for a dresser and generous closet space. The bathroom has a full bathtub, while 2 of the units are equipped with a walk-in shower for handicapped accessibility. Our units average just over 500 square feet and are equipped with a 30 gallon water heater for plenty of hot water! The floor plan below will give some general ideas about dimensions and available space for your personal property and furniture.
The park-like setting includes a covered gazebo for community gatherings during nice weather or family picnics. The community building has coin-operated laundry equipment for the use by all residents and a small office for leasing activities. One of the residents serves as a "responder" for maintenance needs and simple grounds keeping, as well as the occasional times when a resident inadvertently locks their door without having their keys with them! Off-street parking is available for residents as well as a limited number of visitor parking spaces without charge. Must be 62 and older.

Office Hours at the Brookside office.
Monday - Friday - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
In case of an emergency, we will still be in the office during our normal office hours. Also, the doors at both buildings will be locked 24/7 in an attempt to limit unnecessary foot traffic. Instructions are posted at both buildings for mail delivery, UPS, FedEx, personal care attendants, etc. to gain entry. We are also not allowing any group meetings in the Brookside community room. These restrictions will be in effect until further notice.
